Model BBD-4K Bulk Bag Unloader/Discharger

The BPS Model BBD-4K is a large capacity bin vibrating unloader discharger. This reliable and robust unit is used to unload large capacity bulk bags that may need additional force to discharge the material. The BBD-4K uses heavy isolation mounts along with an 1800RPM vibratory motor to agitate the material inside the bag.

Technical Design
  • Bag Lifting Options: Choose from an electric hoist, forklift pockets, or crane attachments based on your facility’s capabilities.
  • Flexible Flow Control: Add iris valves, rotary airlocks, or slide gates to modulate discharge rate.
  • Dust Collection Integration: Maintain a clean work environment by pairing the unloader with existing or standalone dust containment systems.
  • Agitators & Massage Paddles: Optimize flow of compacted or moisture-prone materials by gently loosening contents within the bag.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the BBD-4k handle bags larger than 4,000 lbs?
    Arrow
The standard design accommodates up to 4,000 lbs. For heavier capacities, consult the manufacturer about potential upgrades or a customized frame.
What if my material doesn’t flow easily?
    Arrow
Optional agitators, massage paddles, or vibration aids can help loosen compacted material. Adding a proper flow control valve also helps regulate discharge rates.
How can I minimize dust during unloading?
    Arrow
Use a sealed spout clamp, integrated dust hood, or connect the unloader to a dust collection system. Proper ventilation and filtration can further contain airborne particles.
Do I need a forklift or can I include a hoist system?
    Arrow
Either approach works. Many models include an overhead hoist assembly for facilities without forklift access. Choose the option that best fits your workflow and space constraints.

    Motor Size / Capacity

What size motor do you need?

💡 Why it affects price: Larger motors = more material, higher output, heavier bearings. This is usually the biggest cost driver.

    Voltage / Phase

What electrical configuration do you require?

💡 Why it affects price: Special windings or custom electrical configurations raise manufacturing costs.

    Pole Count (Speed)

What pole count do you need?

💡 Why it affects price: More poles require more copper/steel in stator/rotor windings → higher cost.

    Environmental Rating (IP Protection)

What level of protection do you require?

💡 Why it affects price: Sealing, gaskets, special housings drive costs up.

    Duty Cycle / Bearings

What duty cycle do you need?

💡 Why it affects price: Upgraded bearings and lubricants extend life but cost more.

    Starter / Controls

Do you need a motor starter or controls included?

💡 Why it affects price: Controls are separate hardware — some customers supply their own, others need them bundled.

    Accessories

Would you like to add accessories? (multi-select)

💡 Why it affects price: Each is an add-on item that increases materials + labor.

    Documentation / Certifications

Do you require additional documentation or certifications? (multi-select)

💡 Why it affects price: Compliance documentation adds testing/administration overhead.
